Chic Chateau: Repurposed Never Looked So Good!

Lots of plans are in the works for this year's Chic Chateau charity showhouse tour which will take place at the end of September!

We have design teams hard at work coordinating their rooms and colors for the two Chic houses and scouring area consignment shops, Habitat ReStores and flea markets for furnishings and accessories for their rooms!  And builders are pushing ahead with the two Chic houses that will be ready for the tour to begin on September 21st!

While we will keep the design plans under wraps for the time being we invite you to take a look at some awesome re-purposing ideas that really underscore our Chic Chateau premise! Visit the Muddy Boot Decor Facebook Page to see how some gals in upstate New York are giving discarded items new life! www.facebook.com/MuddyBootsDecor...

And check out an idea from a past Chic.....how you can take scrap metal, an old door and a glass top...

... to make this gorgeous table!  (Lynn Tester Designs... Chic Chateau 2009)

Ideas like this and more will abound at Chic Chateau .... Mark your calendars for the last two weekends in September! ....Chic Chateau Showhouse Tour 2012, Greensboro, NC...Everything in the house will be for sale and all proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity! Don't miss it!

Where is Chic Chateau 2011????

Thanks for visiting Chic Chateau’s Blog!

We’ve gotten so many requests for the next event that we need to let you know that Chic won’t happen this year but we are already in the planning stages for Chic 2012! While the details are very much in the works we can tell you this:

Tentative dates are September 21-23 & 28-30 2012!

To be held in the same neighborhood: The Gates at Brassfield Station

We’re making it bigger and better! We are pairing up with Habitat for Humanity and The Greensboro Builder’s Association in an effort to broaden our volunteer base. As we’re sure that you can imagine it takes large numbers of people to put together an effort like this!

Perhaps the most exciting news is that we are considering the idea having TWO Chic Chateau houses in the same neighborhood..

We know you love Chic and so do we! Stay tuned for further news as the plans progress and thanks for supporting Chic Chateau©

Some Interior Shots of Chic Chateau 2010

View from Master Bath to Master Bedroom.... Built-in Linen Closet on left; framed mirror to match cabinetry on right!

Custom Cabinetry by Distinctive Designs, High Point, NC

Master Bedroom designed by Gina Alem... sumptuous combination of neutrals and coral colors make this room a favorite at Chic Chateau!

Cozy desk corner of the Master

Master Bath

Recessed Master Bedroom Entry

Family~Living Room designed by Melinda Dickey.... Hooded or domed chairs found at a local antique mall combine nicely with a beautifully fauxed armoire. An industrial-type dolly that has been recycled into a trendy coffee table was obtained from a local store fixtures supply house!

Dining Room designed by Sherry Sarine.... An 1867 fireplace mantle from Greensboro's Architectural Salvage store makes it seem like this room really has a fireplace! A 1920's Jacobean table was stripped and bleached of it mahogany finish to a raw and natural state and then fauxed with whimsical diamonds. It was an awesome transformation and repurposing of something destined for the trash!

Check back soon for more interior pictures! The tour continues this weekend October 1 & 2 from 10 to 6 PM, and on our last day...Sunday, October 3 from Noon to 5. The entire contents of the house are for sale and there are still many great buys! Make sure you get to see Chic Chateau 2010 before it's too late!

Directions to Chic Chateau 2010

Chic Chateau 2010 Address:

3702 Stratton Hills Drive

Greensboro, NC 27410

Stratton Hills Drive is a new street and probably will not show up on most GPS systems. The following information can be helpful if you plan to use your GPS: Plug in "DUCK CLUB ROAD, Greensboro, 27410" as this is what the street used to be known prior to the new development there.
  • Stratton Hills Drive: located in Northwest Greensboro just off New Garden Road. It's a community street that runs parallel between Battleground Avenue and Brassfield Road.

  • City regulations have strict mandates as to where signage can be placed in relationship to intersections and sidewalks.... a fact that prevents us from posting signs closer than 20 feet of an intersection. While this may, or may not be understandable, it complicates our efforts to clearly mark the street.....even with balloons! We apologize profusely for any difficulty you might encounter in locating this year's Chic house!

Nearby landmarks include:

***** Imperial Koi and the new location for Pie Works are both restaurants that are located on New Garden DIRECTLY across the street from Stratton Hills Drive. (By the way...both of these are great places for lunch or dinner after a Chic visit!)

***** Fellowship Presbyterian Church is also across the street from Stratton Hills Drive

***** The street runs beside the plaza containing Triad Sign Guys (located at 2002 New Garden Road, Greensboro, 27410)

***** Sign on New Garden Road near the street entrance include one for the Southern Gates Community.

We had an awesome first day! Come see us today....Saturday.... as it's 99.5 WMAG remote day!
