Adrianne Flores of New 14 Carolina getting set up for a shot....

Gina Alem, SSI, on camera...."Didn't you just say that?"

SSI's Melinda Dickey waiting for her turn on camera!

Where else ......would you see a kitchen table fabricated out of an old door...complete with a base made from a scrap piece of scaffolding & topped with a piece of glass??? ....or a formal foyer mirror hung on an old door, complete with peeling paint?.... or lamp made from game pieces? .... an old factory cart used as a cocktail table? How about a recycled lab table that's been faux painted to be used as a study desk?
***
Why...that would be at The Chic Chateau...Greensboro's first Charity Showhouse Tour which was furnished and accessorized using recycled items from thrift stores, consignment shops, salvage yards and antique stores! Chic Chateau is now closed but you can enjoy some pictures of this great event and house in the frames below!

The Finished Product

Foyer, Hallways and Laundry: Jacqueline Alvarez ~ Using an old door as a foyer backdrop!

Hallway: Jacqueline Alvarez ~ An old metal fireplace surround used to 'frame' a new piece of art...

Dining Room: Sherry Sarine ~ Recycled velvet draperies from a consignment shop; tablecloth made from a painter's dropcloth!

Living Room: Melinda Bell Dickey ~ a sofa renewed with a slipcover; old iron grillwork used as 'art' pieces ~ Note the old factory cart used as the coffee table!

Kitchen: Lynn Tester ~ An old door table with a discarded scaffolding base & glass top! Add slipcovers to well-used, stained chairs and voilà! A great look!

Master Bath & Master Bedroom: Sonja Healy ~ An older buffet mirror looks amazing over an upholstered headboard!

Main Level Hall/Powder Bath: Melinda Bell Dickey

Sitting Room: Sonja Healy & Gina Alem ~ A rescued lab table fauxed by Debbie Hayes

Hallway: Jacqueline Alvarez ~ Amazing what you can find in a consignment shop...this HUGE framed wall mirror had one small crack in the glass...what normally would cost over $900 sold at the Chic sale for $325!

Girl's Bedroom & Bath: Gina Alem; Fauxed Chest of Drawers: Debbie Hayes

Game Room: Lisa Medder ~ Lots of recycled items... framed game boards used as artwork; a an old sofa cleaned; an old desk given new life by faux finisher Debbie Hayes!
